Test Image Maker

Placeholder images at exact sizes and formats—PNG, PDF, HEIC, and more—from the toolbar.

Test Image Maker is a Chrome extension for generating test images without leaving the browser. Pick width and height, optional text, a gradient or pattern background, and export in the format your pipeline actually expects.

Features

  • Dimensions — Set width and height explicitly (great for layout and responsive checks).
  • Formats — PNG, JPG, GIF, TIFF, BMP, PDF, WebP, HEIC, and more from one UI.
  • Backgrounds — Gradient or pattern fills; preview updates as you change settings.
  • Text — Add a label, tune alignment, adjust size for screenshots and mocks.
  • Favorites — Save combinations you use all the time and reload them quickly.
  • Export — Download or copy to clipboard from the popup.

How to use it

  1. Install from the Chrome Web Store (button above).
  2. Click the extension icon to open the popup.
  3. Set width, height, and output format.
  4. Choose gradient or pattern for the background.
  5. Add optional text and alignment.
  6. Use Download or Copy; use Favorites to store presets you reuse.
